Reported Speech

When we tell others that somebody has said, we can quote their words directly (direct speech) or report them indirectly (reported speech). In direct speech what somebody has said is not changed in any way.
In reported speech when we report what someone else said, we are usually reporting at a later time so we change the tenses used by the original speaker.

Personal and reflexive pronouns, possessive pronouns and adjectives are also changed, as well as time and place expressions
